Engineer - Government Regulations

JOB: Engineer - Government Regulations
REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering
Summary: This position will research and provide technical expertise to product design teams for the development of new products or the compliance of current products with a focus on the application of Governmental regulations, standards, and directives to Ventrac equipment. Examples may include U.S. EPA, ANSI, OSHA, CE, ISO, or other international regulations where Ventrac equipment may be sold. Responsibilities will also include coordinating the recommended compliance testing required. Reviewing, analyzing and documenting testing results to determine areas of design improvement or causes of failures, and work with product development teams to develop appropriate solutions required to achieve product compliance.
Position Responsibilities:
Research of governmental regulations, directives, and standards (in existing markets and potential) and determination of relevancy for Ventrac equipment
Evaluation and application of relevant standards to Ventrac equipment
Provide technical guidance to Engineering for product requirements and necessary product revisions
Provide technical guidance to Sales & Marketing for potential markets
Perform or oversee testing of equipment per regulations, standards, or directives
Documentation of test results and management of compliance technical files
Apply for appropriate certifications (i.e. EPA emissions compliance)
Monitoring of production equipment to assure ongoing compliance
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Superb proven ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents effectively
Successfully demonstrated strong verbal communication and technical writing abilities
Superb ability to write executive summaries of government regulations, standards, and directives
Strong interpersonal skills - professional, courteous, friendly and helpful
Ability to work as part of a team
Excellent computer and keyboarding skills (Microsoft Office, Internet)
Strong process and organizational skills
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Ability to safely operate and drive equipment
Physical ability to perform equipment testing
Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years experience working in Engineering Product Development
Experience using
Solid Edge (3D CAD)
LabView
Excellent presentation skills

Venture Products, Inc. (VENTRAC) is accepting applications for full-time positions on 2nd shift for FABRICATION , WELDING, ASSEMBLY and PAINTING departments, as well as 1st shift ASSEMBLY department.
Ideal candidates must have demonstrated the ability to work in a fast pace, highly flexible, team environment. Excellent attendance record is a must.
Welding applicants must have 2+ yrs welding experience in MIG/pulse. Operators will be trained to program, set up and run robots.
